$ for Resilient Cities

Resilient Cities are following the Federal money.
Smart Growth: EPA, HUD and USDOT have committed major (interdisciplinary / interagency) funding to coordinate federal housing, transportation, and other infrastructure investments to protect the environment, promote equitable development, and help to address the challenges of climate change.
Sustainable Cities: Sierra Club, Gates Foundation, NRDC, IBM and hosts of other NGO, public and private organizations are devoting themselves to the task of regenerating cities nationally.

High Speed Rail (Transit Oriented Development): Over $8B in funding for high speed rail infrastructure nationwide (Florida, California, Washington.)

Homeland Security: From global warming (sea level rise/energy) to terrorism, investments in cities can serve multiple functions with a priority on making life safer in cities nationwide.

Public Private Partnerships: There are decades of success globally (Canada, Europe, Asia) for attracting investment from all sectors to support infrastructure revitalization and innovation from schools and hospitals to transit oriented development. The ‘green’ economy will emerge as a series of inter-dependent relationships that choreograph the regeneration of our cities.
